Here’s a great nutritious snack for breakfast or any time of the day. Goes great with banana-based ice cream.
Ingredients
- 7 cups chopped red apples
- ½ cup pitted dates (could also use ½ cup raisins)
- ½ to 1 cup of water
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- ¼ cup chopped walnuts
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350° F.
- Set aside one cup of chopped apples. Place the rest in an 8x8 glass baking dish.
- In a blender, combine dates and water. Blend on high until smooth.
- Add 1 cup of apples and cinnamon. Blend on high until smooth.
- Pour this mixture over the apples in the baking dish and mix thoroughly. Bake for 40-50 minutes until golden brown.
- Top with crushed walnuts.
