At St. Peter's Health, our mission is to improve the health, wellness and quality of life of the people and communities we serve. One of the ways we achieve this is through various community-based programs to best serve the diverse needs of Helena and its surrounding areas.
Community Paramedicine
Community paramedicine provides patient-centered mobile resources as an extension of primary care in the out-of-hospital environment. Among others, one major goal of Community Integrated Healthcare is to keep patients at home while bringing select services of the healthcare system to them, as ordered by their primary care provider, with the hopes of reducing hospital readmissions.
FUSE/Housing is Healthcare Program
St. Peter's Health Frequent User Systems Engagement (FUSE) program, also known as Housing is Healthcare, integrates healthcare and housing stability to support high-need patients. By addressing root causes of health issues, such as unstable housing, FUSE aims to reduce strain on healthcare services and provide cost savings for the hospital and community.
Food is Care
Food is Care is a bi-monthly mobile food distribution program in partnership with Helena Food Share, designed to provide medically tailored groceries and meals to individuals managing diet-sensitive chronic conditions. It focuses on supporting those facing food/nutrition insecurity as well as transportation and mobility challenges, connecting participants with healthy food options, education and additional community resources.
Harvest of the Month
Access to and education about healthy foods is critical to good health, which is why Harvest of the Month helps connect groups across our community with opportunities for nutrition education and access to local, healthy foods. This program coordinates nutrition lessons in local elementary classrooms, leads garden and nutrition education booths at local markets and health fairs, shares food and recipes through monthly demonstrations and coordinates tastings and menu features at St. Peter's Health Continental Cafe.

Pregnancy and Infant Loss Support
The Pregnancy and Infant Loss Support group hopes to reduce the trauma of those who have experienced the heartbreak of perinatal loss by fostering compassionate care and ensuring that every person feels seen, heard and held through their loss journey. Through education, collaboration and clear communication, they strive to minimize trauma and honor each family's grief to create a community of care where no one faces this experience alone.
Taking Care of You: A Parental Support Program
15-20% of parents experience perinatal mood or anxiety disorders (PMADS). The Taking Care of You team is here to help with resource connections and support to ensure families have the ability to be at their best. They offer support for depression, anxiety, tobacco, alcohol or drug use, stress, grief/loss and challenges with social needs such as housing, transportation and food.
